What is the difference between CNY (Chinese Yuan) and CNH (Chinese Yuan – offshore) in Jenius?

Both CNY and CNH are Chinese Yuan (RMB). The difference lies in how and where they are used.

CNY (Chinese Yuan) is the official symbol of China’s currency and is known as the “Yuan.” This currency is used within China or Mainland China. CNY is subject to export-import restrictions imposed by the Chinese government.

Meanwhile, CNH (Chinese Yuan Hong Kong) is a currency traded outside Mainland China. CNH is freely traded in currency markets around the world.

Technically, Jenius provides the service of buying and selling CNH according to applicable regulations. The buying and selling rates used are in CNH. However, for the app’s display, Jenius uses CNY because it is more commonly known to the general public.
